Jun 08, 2008· Just this afternoon, my r7 m4a1 airsoft gun started to make this loud screeching noise when I pull the trigger, and it won't fire anything. I checked, and there are no bullets jammed in the gun. Why does it do this? It was working fine one minute, and the next it was making this noise...then it would shoot 1 bullet normally, and then the next time I fired, it made the noise again.

No matter what motor height, there's a metal-on-metal grinding noise. New motor, just got done troubleshooting and fixing just about every other part of the gun. I've spent dozens of hours on this gun and I'm so tired of these new problems popping up. The pinion isn't stripped and neither is the bevel gear.
